A large block allows for:
Open Joints
Highest infiltration rate
No joint aggregate
AASHTO HS 25 loading
ADA Compliant
Freeze Thaw Testing
High Strength Concrete Unit
Vacuum surface area
No refilling of joints
Original infiltration restored
In 2021 PaveDrain was installed at the Monroeville Library to eliminate flooding that occurred at the entrance. In 2023 we performed an Infiltration Test that demonstrated the outstanding performance of PaveDrain. No maintenance had been performed since the installation. PaveDrain infiltrated at >1600in/hr. The Arch in the PaveDrain unit allows for an additional 1" of stormwater storage.
Solid units provide for transition from adjacent area to PaveDrain area. Half and End units allow for consistent appearance of the edge of the PaveDrain area.
Minimum 4-6" of 57 Limestone (PennDOT 2B) a layer of BiAxial geogrid and a layer of GeoTextile; no fine aggregate required
PaveDrain units are available in a variety of earth tones. Colors can be mixed to create unique architectural patterns.

PaveDrain is an open joint system: no aggregate infill between the units is required. Therefore when cleaning is required to maintain infiltration one step maintenance with the use of a VacTruck is all that is needed. Smaller PaveDrain areas can be maintained with the use of a hand operated PaveDrain Vac Head. Large PaveDrain areas can be maintained quickly and efficiently without much interference to the area....similar to street sweeping. The open joint system require less frequent maintenance than other pavers. Ease of maintenance and the open joint system make PaveDrain the sustainable permeable solution.
